Enjoy Outdoors—and Win $100

Mad River Distillers has launched its inaugural line of ready-to-drink canned cocktails, which are made with the distillery’s award-winning bourbon whiskey and deliver the flavor and character of a bar-quality whiskey cocktail. The debut flavors are Blood Orange Spritz, Green Mountain Mule, and Blackberry Hibiscus Spritz. Unlike many canned cocktails made with generic malt-based alcohols or neutral grain spirits, all three varieties are built around bourbon, giving them greater flavor and a distinctly whiskey-forward foundation.

“We wanted to create whiskey drinks that tasted like full-flavored cocktails but were easy to take outdoors,” said Mad River Distillers President Mimi Buttenheim. “With a founding team that includes a competitive ski racer, a marathoner and women’s national crew team member, an accomplished equestrian and a split board snowboarder, we are thrilled to be able to combine our passion for craft spirits with a format made to be enjoyed outdoors.”

To celebrate the launch and the brand’s “Enjoy Outdoors” message, Mad River Distillers is sponsoring a Craft Cocktail Photo Contest. Contestants can submit a selfie of our ready-to-drink cocktails being enjoyed outdoors and two winners will be selected each season, with winners receiving a $100 cash prize. The Bourbon Blood Orange Spritz, Bourbon Green Mountain Mule and Bourbon Blackberry Hibiscus Spritz are available in partnership with Farrell Distributing Corp in Vermont in 12 oz. 4-packs for $15.99 at beer, wine and spirits location in Vermont, as well as direct from the distillery’s tasting rooms in Burlington, Waitsfield, and Stowe.
